Qatar Airways, the flag carrier airline for Qatar had announced to expand its flights operations to South Africa with launching its new route of Durban as well as increasing its flights to Cape Town by October 1st, 2015 from 5 flights per week to daily flight service. Inaugural flights to Durban will be from 17th December, 2015 and there will be four new flights per week to Durban via Johannesburg which will also increase the flights service of Qatar Airways to Johannesburg to a double-daily service which is currently 10 flights per week. All these new flights will be operated through Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
In this context, the CEO of the Qatar Airways Group, Mr. Akbar Al Baker said that “At Qatar Airways we strive to provide our passengers with the best of service levels on ground and on board our modern fleet. We also provide our passengers with a strong global network of business and leisure destinations, and the city of Durban will be a welcome new addition to our extensive route map.” He also said that “Durban is an important gateway into South Africa and we are very confident that this route will be warmly welcomed like all our other routes in the African continent.”
